Happy Holidays!!!

We had Christmas with my family on Sunday morning at our house. It was a great time but made us realize even more how small our house is and awkward when it comes to entertaining guests. What I wouldn't give for a dining room!! Anyway, after some delicious brunch John was able to sneak away from Circuit City so we could all exchange gifts. Jason got an awesome Garmin Navigation System that will be perfect for our long drive to Florida on Thursday. We also got a very cool weather radio from Mom just in case we have another "hurricane" in Kentucky and lose power for another seven days:)

Other than holiday parties and other celebrations we are busy with work and getting ready for our trip to Florida. We cannot wait for the beach, sun and visiting with family. I think we just forgot how much planning goes into a vacation:) We have to make arrangements for the cats, figure out what to eat on the road since selections are limited on Christmas day and get all the laundry done so we can pack.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas! We are headed to Florida through the 2nd of January. Happy New Year and see you in 2009!!!!!!

Love,

Anne and Jason

Hey everyone - thanks for reading. I have gotten a lot of feedback from people and seems that they all really like the idea of us blogging. As a result, I guess we will try our best to keep this up.

Well, I am finished with school for the semester and have officially informed Bellarmine that I am not returning in the Spring.... I think. You see, I have told everyone who needs to know this information but still, somehow, Tuesday I got my new schedule for classes in the spring because my advisor registered me anyway. I just love it over there!!! So now I have to physically go down there and talk with the registrar's office to "unregister" and avoid getting a bill for classes I never had any intention of taking.

Other than that, things are going really well. My new job is still fabulous, the cats are all in excellent health, Christmas shopping is almost complete, and we cannot wait to go to Florida at the end of December. I think after this semester Jason and I are both in desperate need of a vacation.

Home from KYA and a few updates

So, as many of you know, I became the Kentucky Youth Assembly (KYA) sponsor for Meyzeek Middle School about five weeks ago. After a ton of preparation in a very limited amount of time the conference finally arrived and I spent Thursday, Friday and Saturday in a hotel that contained 1400 middle school students from all around Kentucky. Even more frightening was that I was responsible for 38 of these students.

All in all the conference was an astounding success. The students showed up at all the right meetings, participated and did a fabulous job debating. Overall, 2 of our 4 bills were passed and 2 of our delegates received outstanding speaker awards. This all made for a very proud sponsor:)

However, I must admit that they were completely exhausting. I have absolutely no recollection of having that much energy at the age of 13.

Other than that, life goes on. Tomorrow night is my last night of school of the semester and I must admit I am relieved. This semester has been a total nightmare and as a result of everything I have decided to not go back next semester. Plus, after Bellarmine's latest shenanigans, I highly doubt that I will be finishing my MAT at Bellarmine, so in the spring I am going to look into IUS and UL and try to decide which school will fit my needs better. I absolutely loved my undergrad experience at Bellarmine and would still recommend them to students just out of high school. However, for MAT purposes I will absolutely never refer anyone to Bellarmine because of the nightmare that it has been for the last two semesters.

As for a good school experience, Jason is having one at IUS. He is doing awesome in his Japanese class and is registered for spring semester. I am so proud of the work he is doing over there.

Lastly, we cannot wait to go on vacation at the end of the month. We are very very very ready to get away from Louisville and the cold for a week and enjoy the beach:)

That's all for now!
